Lights come in different levels of brightness. The concept of brightness is measured in lumens. Generally speaking, the higher the lumen output, the brighter the light produced. The lumens produced is also associated with the watts consumed to create the lumens. In theory, a higher watt will yield a higher lumen output or a brighter light. Here are a few examples on a scale of lights brightness model.

Halogen Bulbs

• 18W produces 250 lumens
• 53W produces 1100 lumens
• 72W produces 1600 lumens

Compact Fluorescent Bulbs

• 6W produces 250 lumens
• 18W produces 1100 lumens
• 23W produces 1600 lumens

LED Bulbs

• 4W produces 250 lumens
• 15W produces 1100 lumens
• 20W produces 1600 lumens
