Types of Fluorescent Tube Lights
Various wattage's and sizes are available for your lighting needs. These fluorescent tube lamps utilize a mercury vapor gas discharge that uses fluorescence to produce visible light. An electric current in the gas excites the mercury vapor which produces short-wave ultraviolet light that then causes a phosphor coating on the inside of the lamp to glow.
Fluorescent lamps are much more efficient than incandescent lamps with comparable light output. Unlike incandescent lamps, they require a ballast to regulate the current through the lamp, but their lower energy cost typically offsets their higher initial cost, making them ideal for a wide range of settings and purposes.
