This 240W Aries UFO LED high bay replaces 750W to 1000W HID fixtures in industrial spaces with 20-foot ceilings or higher. The round UFO shape distributes light evenly in a downward circle, which makes it well suited for large open floors and high ceiling environments where rectangular linear fixtures would create uneven coverage. With selectable wattage and three beam angle options through the optical system, a single fixture adapts to a wide range of mounting heights and applications. It's particularly suited for:

  • Warehouses and distribution centers, where consistent floor illumination across wide aisles supports forklift operation and inventory work
  • Manufacturing floors and factories, where shift work and machinery uptime demand reliable, code-compliant illumination
  • Gymnasiums, sports facilities, and arenas, where high mounting and even floor coverage matter more than directional throw

A common starting rule is to space fixtures roughly equal to the mounting height for uniform coverage. At a 25-foot ceiling, that means fixtures around 25 feet apart in both directions, dropping to closer spacing if you need higher footcandle targets like manufacturing or inspection work. Total fixture count depends on square footage, target footcandles, ceiling reflectance, and racking layout, which is why rough calculations only get you partway. Warehouse Lighting provides free photometric layouts using the actual IES file for this fixture. For large projects, it's recommended that you request a layout before placing an order, as LED retrofits often require fewer fixtures than older HID systems.

Most utility rebate programs require pre-approval before the fixtures are purchased or installed, so the order of operations matters. Contact your utility's commercial lighting program, submit baseline information about the fixtures being replaced, get pre-approval, install the new DLC Premium fixtures (this one qualifies), then submit final paperwork including the spec sheet, DLC listing verification, and installation invoice. Programs typically pay $50 to $300 per high bay fixture, depending on utility and wattage reduction, with checks issued 4 to 16 weeks after final submission. The 120V straight blade plug is included as the default and works on standard commercial 120V receptacles, common in smaller industrial buildings, retail back-of-house, and shops. The 277V twist lock plug is a $12 upgrade and is what most large warehouses and industrial facilities are wired for, since 277V is more efficient over long runs and reduces conductor sizing. If you're not sure what voltage your facility uses, check the breaker panel or ask the building electrician before ordering, since installing a 120V plug on a 277V circuit (or vice versa) will damage the fixture.

Yes, a separate EM Remote Conduit Box accessory (WL-LECV-UFO-40D-R-G3) is available for applications where the high bay is part of an emergency egress lighting plan, providing illumination during a power outage.
